About.National Highway and Motorway Police:
The Pakistani police force entrusted with enforcing traffic regulations, offering safety advice, promoting road safety, and carrying out a number of other duties is known as the National Highways & Motorway Police, or NHMP for short. Pakistan’s highway system was constructed in 1997, and the motorway police were set up not long after. They are now in charge of highway patrol.
Modern technology is used by the national highway and motorway police to enforce traffic laws, and most recently, the police department introduced the e-challan system.
For enforcement purposes, the national highway and motorway network is divided into seven zones. Each zone is supervised by three additional IGPs and is run by a DIG. Each Zone has a number of “sectors” under the direction of an SSP and SP. Each “beat,” which is headed by a DSP, further divides each sector.
